(More customer reviews)I picked this up as part of a combo pack that included a Bosch variable speed jig saw.I've used it for a good 8 months or so through a handful of home woodworking projects.
On the plus side, this sander has EXCELLENT dust control, even using just the canister unit.Power seems adequate.Feels comfortable in the hand.Bosch customer service is helpful and responsive.
On the negative side, I feel the tool could be more aggressive in material removal.But the major problem is I can't get over how this tool vibrates.Out of the box the vibration was so bad it felt like it was bouncing.Sanding results were poor.I sent it in for repair and it came back the same way.Sent it in for repair again, same problem.So after contacting Bosch directly I was referred to a manager at the nearest service center.He told me to send it in again and he would ship out a replacement tool at no charge.The replacement tool is better, but it still vibrates.I've heard this is common to some sanders, and I'm convinced this is a trait for this model.Sanding results are OK, but the vibration is aggravating over longer periods of sanding.
It's unfortunate because I've been pleased with every other Bosch tool I've owned.Nonetheless, I'm looking for a replacement sander.I just wish I could try one before I buy it...
