(More customer reviews)First of all, I need to say that I have made many purchases at Amazon usually with first class results.The grinder stand was delivered in a reasonable amount of time.No complaints there.It was also in good condition, so, no complaints there either.This is where any positive comments that I have about this stand end. The stand came with poor assembly instructions and was very tedious to assemble. My main disappointment, however, stems from the fact that, although the stand is purported to "fit most common grinders", it does not.I have a Porter Cable 6" grinder purchased from Lowes, about as common as you can get, and the very small slots cut into the stand not only do not fit my grinder, but are just close enough to what I need to fit my grinder as to prevent me from simply driling new holes.As a matter of fact, I don't know any grinder that it does fit.Also, the size of the platform is so small that there is no room for any adjustments to drill holes in alternate locations.
This stand is a very poor replica of a stand of a "similar construction" that can be purchased at Woodcraft for about $42 that has a much larger platform and has very ample long slots to permit nearly any grinder to be mounted with ease as this Amazon stand should have had also.The stand that I bought at Amazon ended up costing me a little over $50 when shipping was added in.Compared to the large woodworking equipment that I have purchased at Amazon, Powermatic cabinet saw, etc, at very great savings, this purchase was a gnat on the elephant's tail.It is a lost cause for its intended purpose.The cost is not great enough to cause me to waste my precious time to disassemble it, repackage it, and send it back.I can always put a flower pot on it.That is about all it is good for.Stay away from this one.
